Cocktail Sauce with Garlic

This homemade cocktail sauce, infused with the boldness of garlic, could be your new go-to. It's incredibly easy to whip up in your kitchen, using ingredients you likely have on hand, ensuring that every batch is as fresh as can be. Plus, the beauty of making it yourself is that you get to tweak the flavors exactly to your liking; whether you prefer it spicier or more tangy. This sauce is ideal for those moments when you want to elevate your shrimp, crab cakes, or any other seafood to a whole new level of deliciousness. It adds just the right amount of zing to make your meal memorable.
Ingredient List
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Splash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • A pinch of black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup and lemon juice. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the mixture. Adjust the amount based on how much flavor you want to infuse.
  3. Incorporate the prepared horseradish into the sauce. Start with 1 tablespoon, taste, and add more if you desire a spicier kick.
  4. Mince the garlic finely and mix it into the sauce, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
  5. Season the mixture with a pinch of black pepper. Stir well to blend all the ingredients together.
  6. Let the sauce sit for at least 15 minutes in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld. This step is optional but recommended for the best taste.
  7. Before serving, give the sauce a good stir. Adjust seasoning if necessary with more lemon juice or horseradish.
  8. Serve chilled as a dip for shrimp, crab cakes, or any seafood of your choice.

Tip: For an extra smooth sauce, you can blend the ingredients in a food processor or with an immersion blender. Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week.
